The Andong Culture and Art Center is holding a special exhibition titled 'The Era of Contemplation - Portraying China' featuring the works of three artists Wang Qingsong, Yao Lu, and Zhang Kechun, showcasing the forefront of contemporary Chinese art, from October 21st to December 4th, in celebration of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and China.

The three artists in this exhibition 'The Era of Contemplation - Portraying China' are not merely observers of social phenomena but have become cultural icons representing the flow of the times, presenting various issues of contemporary Chinese society through documentary-like works. They aimed to capture the ideological confusion and changes experienced by modern individuals due to globalization and urbanization through diverse productions and grand scales in photography.

An official from the Andong Culture and Art Center stated, "We are pleased to present the works of three representative global contemporary Chinese photographers that are hard to encounter in Andong, in celebration of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and China."

안동문화예술의전당은 한·중 수교 30주년을 맞아 중국 현대미술의 최전선을 보여주는 작가 3인 왕칭송·야오루·장커춘의 작품으로 열리는 특별기획전시 ‘사유의시대-중국을 담다’를 지난 21일 ~ 12월 4일까지 진행한다.
이번 기획전시 ‘사유의시대-중국을 담다’의 3인의 작가들은 단순히 사회 현상의 관찰자가 아닌 시대의 흐름을 나타내는 문화적 아이콘이 돼 다큐멘터리와 같은 작품을 통해 중국 현대사회 여러 문제들을 보여준다. 다양한 연출과 거대한 스케일을 사진에 담아내며 세계화와 도시화로 현대인이 겪는 이데올로기적 혼란과 변화를 담아내고자 했다.
안동문화예술의전당 관계자는 “한·중 수교 30주년을 맞아 안동에서 접하기 어려운 세계적인 중국현대사진 작가 대표 3인의 작품을 시민들에게 선보일 수 있어 기쁘게 생각한다”라고 밝혔다.
