Hampyeong Museum of Art in Jeonnam will hold its first planned exhibition of 2023, 'Fantasia - Virtual and Reality', from the 15th to April 16th. The exhibition features photographers Koo Seong-youn, Lee Jeong-lok, Lim Anna, and Han Sung-pil, who are active both domestically and internationally.

The essence of photography was to faithfully reproduce the landscapes and objects of reality. However, with the advancement of photographic technology, it is now possible to create desired images beyond simple reproduction. This can be done with just a smartphone, allowing anyone to create the images they want. The participating artists in this exhibition also satirize the distorted desires of humanity and the harsh realities of war, posing questions about the origins of life, adding images to the landscapes of reality or realizing a virtual world through staged scenes.

Lim Anna continuously addresses the most tragic wars in the world. She conveys a message of healing humanity from the wounds of tragedy by creating the brutal landscapes of war through fairy-tale metaphors. Koo Seong-youn discusses modern desires through a splendid peony flower represented as the sweetest candy in the world. The ephemeral moment of the candy flower reveals the illusion provided by worldly desires. Lee Jeong-lok presents a series on the world-famous pilgrimage route 'Santiago'. Through the countless traces of light that adorn the pilgrimage path, he evokes the nobility of living beings and nature throughout history. Han Sung-pil works with materials related to construction site barriers. He attaches life-sized photographs of buildings to the barriers, posing questions about the essence of virtual and reality.

전남 함평군립미술관은 2023년 첫 번째 기획전으로 오는 15일부터 4월16일까지 '판타지아-가상과 현실'을 개최한다. 전시에는 국내외에서 활약 중인 사진가 구성연, 이정록, 임안나, 한성필이 참여한다.

사진의 본질은 현실의 풍경과 사물을 그대로 재현하는 것이었다. 그러나 사진 기술의 발전으로 이제는 단순한 재현을 넘어 원하는 이미지를 만들어 낼 수 있다. 이러한 일은 스마트폰 하나로 가능하며, 누구나 원하는 이미지를 만들고 있다. 이번 전시 참가작가들 또한 인간의 어긋난 욕망과 전쟁과 같은 참담한 현실을 풍자하거나 생명의 근원에 관한 질문을 던지며, 현실의 풍경에 이미지를 더하거나 연출된 장면을 통해 가상의 세계를 구현하고 있다.

임안나는 세상에서 가장 비극적인 전쟁을 지속해서 다루고 있다. 잔인한 전쟁의 풍경을 동화적인 비유로 제작해 비극의 상처로부터 인류를 치유하고자 하는 메시지를 전달한다. 구성연은 세상에서 가장 달콤한 사탕으로 재현한 화려한 모란꽃을 통해 현대인의 욕망을 이야기한다. 사탕 꽃의 황홀한 순간의 소멸은 세속적 욕망이 주는 허상을 보여준다. 이정록은 세계적으로 유명한 순례길 '산티아고' 연작을 보여준다. 순례길을 수놓은 수많은 빛의 흔적을 통해 역사 속의 생명체와 자연의 숭고함을 느끼게 한다. 한성필은 건물 공사를 위해 설치된 가림막을 소재로 작업을 한다. 가림막에 실물 크기의 건물 사진을 부착해 가상과 현실의 본질에 관한 질문을 던지기도 한다.
