We are pleased to announce the art talk program associated with the exhibition 'New British Modernity' held at the Burberry Seoul flagship.
This art talk has been prepared as a special time to highlight the hidden history of British art and the achievements of female abstract artists. The speaker will be Lee So-young, an art collector and renowned art book author, who will delve deeply into the development of British abstract art. In particular, the discussion will focus on a total of six female abstract artists, including historical figures such as Barbara Hepworth, Bridget Riley, and Mary Martin, as well as contemporary young artists participating in the exhibition, Jemima Murphy, Pam Evelyn, and Sarah Cunningham.
In the lecture, we will analyze their unique artistic worlds and examine how they continued their creative activities within the social and cultural contexts of their time. We will also take time to understand the impact of their works on modern abstract art and compare and discuss various expressive techniques and styles.
